William Robert Scott Cello
Minneapolis, 2016

Bill Scott is an award-winning American violin maker who built his first instrument in 1977 and opened his own workshop in the Twin Cities in 1986 after training at Dahl Violin Shop and apprenticing with Hans Weisshaar. Widely respected for his craftsmanship, Scott has earned three gold medals, five silver medals, and numerous Certificates of Merit from the Violin Society of America, achieving Hors Concours status in 2006. A former president of the VSA (2020-22), he remains active in the violin-making community and regularly participates in teh renowned Oberlin Violin-Making Workshop.
This beautiful cello is modeled on an early Strad, and has a very silvery tenor-y A string, and a delightfully juicy lower register.
