A Guadagnini-Model Viola by Eduard Miller
15 3/4"
Denver, 2023

Our very own Eddy Miller is a Denver-based award-winning luthier who bends a background in music performance with elite technical training. A graduate of the Violin Making School of America, Eddy honed his craft under masters Georg Meiwes, Gregg Alf, and Joseph Curtin.
Now specializing in new instruments, Eddy strive to create "musician's companions"-- violins defined by exceptional character and refined workmanship. He is a partner at Denver Violins alongside Evan Orman and Mackenzie Miller. When he steps away from the workbench, you'll find him wrangling his Dobermans, mountain biking, or tending his saltwater aquariums.
This instrument is a small viola with a big rich sound and rapid response. Guadagnini made fairly small violas, and this is based on a viola of the same size-- not shrunk down (which is pretty fun!). The wood choice of the back is not typical (poplar), but it's beautiful and gives it a lot of character and charm!
