Bartolomeo Calvarola was a distinctive Italian violin maker active in Bergamo around 1750–1770. Though biographical details are scarce, his instruments are prized for their unique style. Calvarola’s work is characterized by a slender model, minute corners, and distinctive, often narrow scrolls, showing influence from makers like Ruggieri and Stainer. His instruments, including rare violas, are known for their fine craftsmanship and quality varnish, making him a unique figure of the Bergamo school.
