Stephen Lohmann is an American violin maker shaped by his training in Cremona and years of restoration work in the shops of Frank Passa, Boyd Poulsen, and Carl Applebaum. His instruments reflect that background: disciplined workmanship, confident structure, and a clear sense of how fine violins change over time. This violin shows those qualities in practice, with Lohmann’s crisp modeling and the assured, responsive feel that has become a hallmark of his Sacramento‑area workshop since 1992.
