Mark Moreland is an award-winning American luthier who began his career in violin making and repair in 1975, following a start as a violinist. He served a three-year apprenticeship under Paul Schuback, training in Old World French traditions. Moreland has worked for several prominent shops across the US before opening his own shop in Battle Ground, Washington. His instruments, often built on Stradivari or Guarneri del Gesu models, have earned numerous tone awards in international competitions.
