Dario Vernè was an Italian violin maker associated with the Piedmontese school of lutherie, known for its blend of Northern European rigor and Italian creativity. His instruments, which have a full, rich sound and often feature beautifully flamed maple, were crafted in Turin and the surrounding area. An inscription on one of his violins notes he was born in Mathi on February 19, 1922. His work is regarded as fine Italian craftsmanship.
