Tuscany, 1952

Price Available Upon Request

Cesare Maggiali (b. 1886, Carrara, Italy) was a Tuscan violin maker who, despite working primarily as a school teacher and being officially an amateur, crafted over 160 instruments. He received instruction from the prominent Florentine maker Igino Sderci. Maggiali often based his high-quality violins, violas, and cellos on models by Stradivari and Guarneri. His dedication was recognized with a gold medal at the 1954 Rome competition.
