Alkis S. Rappas is an American luthier based in Kingwood, Texas, specializing in violins and violas for professional players. He began his career in the 1980s, combining a background in Chemical Engineering (Ph.D. Yale) with a passion for lutherie and acoustics. Rappas is an accomplished participant in the renowned Oberlin Violin Makers Workshop, where he studies classical Italian masterpieces. He has won multiple awards for tone at VSA International Competitions.
